Dentist Near Chestnut Hill
Convenient Access from Chestnut Hill
Ambler Dental Care is about 13 minutes up Bethlehem Pike from the top of Germantown Avenue, a simple option for anyone who wants a dentist near Chestnut Hill with easy suburban parking. We practice in Ambler at 602 S Bethlehem Pike Ste C2, Ambler, PA 19002, on the first floor of the Ambler Professional Center. Three dentists provide preventive, restorative and cosmetic care, plus IV sedation for nervous patients.
From Chestnut Hill West station on West Evergreen Avenue, the drive is roughly 5.6 miles. Wind over to Germantown Avenue by way of Shawnee Street and West Highland Avenue, then head up the Avenue's Belgian-block stretch toward the city line. Near Stenton Avenue the road becomes Bethlehem Pike, and from there you simply stay on Bethlehem Pike for about 4.5 miles until you turn left onto Bannockburn Avenue at our building.
The lot is right beside the entrance, so there is no hunting for street parking. Our Google Maps listing shows the building from the pike. Patients in Flourtown and Lafayette Hill are a few minutes closer along the same corridor.
A Thoughtful Dental Home for Chestnut Hill Patients
Chestnut Hill is the northwest corner of Philadelphia, inside Philadelphia County, and it is bounded by the Wissahickon Gorge on one side and Stenton and Northwestern Avenues on others. The neighborhood is known for its historic district, full of nineteenth and early twentieth century homes, and for Germantown Avenue, where independent shops, galleries and cafes line the street. Morris Arboretum, Woodmere Art Museum and Chestnut Hill College add to the sense of a village inside the city.
People who live here usually value craftsmanship and continuity, and they expect the same from their dentist. Our three dentists take time to explain what they see, show you x-rays and talk through options before anything is scheduled. That approach suits patients who want to understand their teeth, not just be told what to do.
The neighborhood also borders some of the most popular trails in the city. The Wissahickon Valley Park, with about 50 miles of trails and the gravel path of Forbidden Drive, starts at the edge of Chestnut Hill. Active adults who spend time outdoors still need the basics: two cleanings a year, a check of older dental work and a plan for any tooth that has started to ache.
Crossing Stenton Avenue puts you in Montgomery County, and the drive out Bethlehem Pike avoids Center City traffic entirely. We open at 8 AM Monday through Thursday, stay until 7 PM on Wednesday, and see patients every other Friday from 8 AM to 2 PM.
What Chestnut Hill Residents Should Know About Their Dental Care
Older, well-kept homes often come with longtime owners, and longtime owners often carry decades of dental work. Crowns, bridges and large fillings placed long ago can wear at the margins, darken or develop decay underneath. A careful exam with x-rays is the only way to know which restorations still have plenty of life and which need attention.
Missing teeth deserve a plan rather than a wait-and-see approach. When a tooth is lost, the bone beneath it slowly shrinks and nearby teeth can tip. Dental implants, bridges and partial or full dentures each solve that problem differently, and Dr. Jashank Sampat both places and restores implants after an intensive implant continuum.
Appearance matters too. Many patients want to brighten teeth dulled by coffee and tea or replace old dark fillings with tooth-colored composite. Porcelain veneers can reshape worn or chipped front teeth, and adults who never had braces can straighten crowded teeth with clear aligners.
For anyone who avoids the dentist out of fear, IV sedation is available. A dentist trained in IV sedation monitors you from start to finish, and you will need a driver home.
Gum health ties all of this together. Gum disease often causes no pain in its early stages, yet it can loosen teeth and undermine crowns and bridges. Regular cleanings and gum measurements catch it while treatment is still simple, and our dentists provide gum disease therapy when deeper cleaning is needed.
Rail riders have one more thing to consider. Chestnut Hill is served by two Regional Rail terminals, East and West, and both lines run to Center City. Our Wednesday schedule, which runs until 7 PM, gives train commuters a reliable option for appointments after the workday, and the office is an easy drive from either station.

Frequently Asked Questions
How far is Ambler Dental Care from Chestnut Hill, and how do I get there?
From Chestnut Hill West station it is about 5.6 miles, generally a 13-minute drive. Follow Germantown Avenue to the city line, where it turns into Bethlehem Pike, and stay on the pike to Bannockburn Avenue. For a dentist near Chestnut Hill without street parking hassles, our lot sits next to the first-floor entrance.
What signs suggest an older crown is starting to fail?
The most common signs are a dark line at the gumline, new sensitivity, food catching at the edge or a crown that feels loose. Decay can start under a crown without pain, so our dentists check older crowns with x-rays at each cleaning and suggest replacement only when the seal or the tooth beneath is failing.
Can I get implants after wearing dentures for a long time?
Often, yes, but it depends on how much bone remains. Bone can shrink where teeth have been missing, so our dentists start with an exam and x-rays to see whether implants are a good fit. When they are, implants can support a single tooth, a bridge or a more secure denture.
Can a full denture be made more secure?
Often it can. A denture that slips may simply need to be refitted as the gums change shape, or it may be time for a new one. Dental implants can also anchor a denture so it moves less while you eat and speak, and our dentists will explain which option fits your mouth.
Can Invisalign fix crowding that came back after braces as a teen?
In many cases, yes. Teeth often drift after braces, especially if retainers were not worn, and clear aligners can move them back into line. Invisalign planning starts with digital impressions and a free consultation, where our dentists check whether aligners alone can correct your bite.
